Cost ranges and assumptions

Wherever a range is available, MARA shows the range as well as the point estimate. The point estimate is the midpoint of MARA's reasoning, not a most-likely price.

Every renovation estimate returns an explicit assumptions list — for example assumed square footage, assumed scope, whether taxes are excluded, and whether structural or permit work was assumed. When MARA has no per-line breakdown it states plainly that the figure is based on the available property information and general regional cost assumptions.

• Amounts are in CAD.
• GST/QST is excluded unless the estimate says otherwise.
• Permits, structural surprises and asbestos or vermiculite abatement are excluded unless explicitly mentioned.
